As Americans everywhere prepare for a turkey feast with extra helpings of pumpkin pie, we’ve been out finding five of the best places for Thanksgiving this side of the Atlantic.

Dead Dolls House

Thanksgiving is as much about the people as it is the food, and the sharing menu at Dead Dolls House is perfect for a communal meal with your favourites – as the picture above clearly proves. Expect a special menu featuring pumpkin, goat’s cheese and pecan tarts; maple-glazed roast turkey with cranberries and gravy; truffled mac & cheese; then chocolate and peanut butter brownie for pudding. The Blues Kitchen

Blues Kitchen are not messing about this Thanksgiving. Book yourself a booth and wear loose-fitting trousers; there will be buttermilk fried turkey and mac ‘n’ cheese to start with, then pumpkin pie with toasted marshmallows later on. There’s also an excellent range of cocktails to toast our friends across the pond. Stick around after dinner for a night of music featuring soul icons like Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner and Marvin Gaye. What. A. Line-up.

Breakfast Club Hoxton

A turkey isn’t just for Christmas, much like The Breakfast Club isn’t just for breakfast. Head along on November 22 and you’ll find

them preparing a three-course banquet of typically hearty Americana plates at both their Hoxton and Hackney Wick kitchens. Get stuck in to butternut bisque, bacon-roasted Norfolk turkey (or mac ‘n’ cheese) and pumpkin pie with ice cream. There are Brooklyn beers to wash everything down with.

The Crown & Shuttle

If you are an American in London yearning for a taste of home, may we point you in the direction of The Crown & Shuttle? Every year their Thanksgiving bash just gets bigger and better, with 2018’s offering featuring a traditional turkey feast, lots of Stateside drinks and an all-American playlist ringing out ‘til late. Grab a bourbon (or a craft beer, or a pumpkin ale) and raise a glass to all that is great and good about the USA.

Jones Family Project

The Thanksgiving festivities are rolled out across three evenings at Jones Family Project in Shoreditch. Their three-course menu opens with cream of squash soup with pumpkin seeds and winter truffle before a turkey dinner with generous helpings of all the trimmings is served for mains. Diners can choose between two pies – pumpkin or pecan – for dessert, while a paired cocktail menu pays tribute to the US harvest fruits (apple, blueberry, grape, cranberry) and legendary musicians like Neil Diamond and Aretha Franklin.
