It was a week of upsets in the Victoria Park Community League as the battle for the finals day place took place.
In Division Two, Phoenix All Stars eased to a seven-wicket win over Wolverines, who were 35-5 before Robbie Martin and Charlie Rogers managed several boundaries as Wolverines slipped to 98 all out. In reply, Ramiz Khan smashed 50 alongside opener Ismail Matvad as Phoenix reached their target in the 10th over.
Sky 2 defeated Victoria Lounge in the penultimate over of their Division Three clash, after Stefan Phillipson struck 50 as the Lounge posted 170-3.
Nozmul Hussain led the way with his fifth half-century this season to help Sky 2 home in the final over.
Homerton and Old Monks produced an incredible encounter, as Homerton struck 182-3, with Billy Remington smashing 50 alongside several late blasts from Tomas Biswas (38).
Old Monks looked down and out at 140-6 before a sensational 72 from Shiv Kumar left the match in the balance. After two straight boundaries, three was needed from two, with Shiv run out coming back for the third, as the match ended all square.
Broadway remain unbeaten after a comfortable victory over Gousey, with Hamza striking 51 alongside 48 from Will Jack in their 188-3.
Despite a second successive 50 from Niall Saigal, Gousey ended up short on 123-5.
The return of the Newington Cup between local rivals Stokey Scoundrels and De Beauvoir Dugongs saw Stokey go out hard and smash 140-3 off the first eight overs thanks to a 20-ball half-century from Zain Haidery.
A strong second half saw them bowled out for 177 with three overs remaining but the Dugongs slipped to 25-4, before a 61-run stand between Seb Buddle (39) and Hugo Borren (30) steadied the ship.
Zain Haidery claimed both scalps, jelping to dismiss the Dugongs for 95.
In Division Four, Rigs comfortably defeated Camel Lights after opting to bat and posting 185-2, with Dom Whitlock and George MacDonald both smashing half-centuries.
In reply, Dave Sendall top scored as Camel were bowled out for 83.
Robbie Jacobs hit a half-century as Mad Maracas made it three from three as they comfortably chased down Old Fallopians seconds 144-2.
Wednesday Night enjoyed a Thursday night victory over Regents, after posting 171-3 with Aamir Shaikh striking 51. Despite 50 from Alex James, Regents fell short on 151-5.
Clapton FCCC defeated Stokey Saints after finishing on 135-5, with Ben Finn (46) their top scorer, as Saints were bowled out for just 88.
The first of the Vandermark Cup quarter-finals saw Camel Lights book their place at finals day with a comprehensive upset of Division One’s I Don't Like Cricket.
The Camels hit 180-2 with openers Nabil Umrani (53) and Dave Sendall (51) top scoring, with IDLC coming up well short on 110, as Luca Bingham (32) led their chase.
Rose & Crown booked their place in finals day by beating London Eagles, posting 165-4 and dismissing their rivals for just 85.
Old Fallopians 2 struck 188-4 against Sky, who chased it down in just 11 overs thanks to 50s from Ripon Noor and Salman Khan.
And Division Three’s De Beauvoir Dugongs defeated Division One Wapping Dolphins with ease.
The Dolphins were bowled out for just 104 with the Dugongs chasing it down in 10.3 overs thanks to a half-century from James Patterson.
