Thousands of internet users have reported issues signing into Facebook and Instagram.
At the time of writing, over 2900 people have reported issues on Facebook with a further 2000 people having similar complaints on Instagram
55% of users have said they are struggling to use the Facebook website, 27% have reported problems with the app and 18% are experiencing difficulties with signing in.
The issue was first reported on Down Detecter at around 6:08pm on Monday, October 14.
Outages have spread across the UK to places like Glasgow, London and Manchester.

Users were quick to take to rival social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to share the issue.
One user said: "thought for a sec that i Lost my 13yo Facebook account."
A second added: "Is Facebook Down? Can’t Log in #facebooklogin #facebookdown."
A third asked: "Is #facebook down ?"
Discussing issues on Instagram, one user said: "It looks like Instagram is experiencing technical issues, with multiple reports of malfunctions. Stay tuned for updates! #InstagramDown."
Another wrote: "Instagram going down when i was trying to stalk people… now i have to go do my homework i guess."
