A historic church building has a packed programme of concerts and events leading up to Christmas.
The Old Church in Stoke Newington, dating back to 1563, has become a hub for music, arts, and community events.
The venue, which seats 110 and can hold 140 standing, has made a name for itself with a mix of music and wellness activities, while continuing to be a community landmark.
It has hosted recent performances by emerging and established artists, supported by national promoters like AEG and Live Nation.
Its cultural programming includes performances by musicians and initiatives like the Stoke Newington Early Music Festival and Hackney Music Live.
The venue also offers wellness activities, such as yoga, Sufi whirling, and queer belly dancing.
As a charity, the Old Church relies solely on box office revenue.
For December, the venue has a full schedule of events.
On December 5, it will host the Solstice Solidarity Synthesis, curated by Drum & Lace, with all proceeds going to The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund.
On December 13, contemporary vocal group Camden Voices will return for an evening of melodies and harmonies.
On December 15, the church will host Money for Old Prose, an evening of poetry, music, and prose hosted by Selina Cadell in aid of Myeloma UK.
