A murder trial is set to begin after mum-of-two Lianne Gordon was shot dead in Hackney.
Lianne, 42, died at the scene of the shooting on Vine Close on December 5, 2023.
A 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with her murder.
On Wednesday (September 4) a jury were sworn in at the Old Bailey, with the trial set to begin on Thursday.
Judge David Aubrey KC told the jury: “On December 5, 2023, a woman by the name of Lianne Gordon was killed. She was shot dead. There will be no dispute about that whatsoever.
“And, evidently and understandably, when you hear that for the first time may arouse some emotions, sympathy, anger, all sorts of emotions.”
He told the jury they are the judges of the facts in the case and they must try the case objectively and dispassionately.
“Without fear, without favour, without sympathy, without prejudice,” he told them.
Shortly after the fatal shooting Lianne’s family released a statement through the police in which they said “we her family are going to miss her immensely”.
The 17-year-old defendant faces eight charges, the most serious of these charges is Lianne’s murder on December 5.
On December 5 he is also charged with the attempted murders of 21-year-old Amani Adams-McGuire and a 17-year-old boy, and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
On December 2 he is charged with having a blade on Rendlesham Road, affray and possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.
On October 1 he is charged with threatening Lianne’s son, 21-year-old Kaymound Gordon, with a blade.
A second defendant - Elijah Seriki, 21, of Worsley Grove in Hackney – is also charged with threatening Kaymound with a blade on October 1.
Seriki is also charged with affray, possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life and having a blade on December 2.
