A man has been rushed to hospital with head injuries after he was “pushed to the floor and stamped on” in Stoke Newington.
Police were called to reports of a fight between two men in Stoke Newington Church Street at around 5.30am this morning (August 30).
According to one eyewitness who lives in the street, the altercation started at the junction with Albion Road, before pausing after a car pulled up alongside the two men.
When the car drove off, the fight continued along the road, said the eyewitness, who did not want to be named.
He added that one of the two men then “pushed the other to the floor and stamped on his head”.
The injured man then tried to walk off along the road, despite suffering from an obvious head injury.
Police have confirmed that a man, aged in his 30s, was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. His condition is not known at this time.
No arrests have been made and cordons remain in place at the scene while officers investigate the incident.
