Roads remain cordoned off and a forensic tent is still in place after a man in a wheelchair was stabbed to death.

Pictures at the scene show many residential roads around Rushmore Road, Clapton, still closed one day after the brutal knife attack on Wednesday (August 28) at around 3.30pm.

A man, named as 38-year-old Jade Anthony Barnett, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men, aged 28 and 21, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Forensics investigators could be seen going into a tent in nearby Overbury Street, and bright yellow markers were dotted along the street.

Outside a nearby parade of shops in Rushmore Road, people spoke of their shock that such a brutal stabbing had taken place in what they described as a lovely area.

The victim’s sister, Simone Barnett, told the PA news agency that her brother was “jolly, cheerful, caring”.

His friends reportedly said he used a wheelchair after losing his leg in a motorcycle accident in 2007.
