A police hunt is on to find a man after a “true gentleman” bus driver was killed in a brutal stabbing.
The Metropolitan Police is hoping to speak to Kamar Williams, 33, who lives in the Isle of Dogs but is also known to frequent both east and south east London.
Members of the public have been warned they should not approach him, and instead should alert police immediately.
It follows after the murder of Derek Thomas, 53, who was killed in a Northwold Road, Stoke Newington, on Tuesday (July 30) at 11.05pm.
The Stoke Newington local was reportedly attacked on his way back home after work at the Northumberland Park bus garage in Tottenham for transport company Go-Ahead London.
A post mortem examination held at Poplar Mortuary on Thursday (August 1) gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the chest.
His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
On Saturday (August 3), a woman, 30, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and remains in custody.
Police now hope to find Williams as part of their investigation.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call 999 immediately, or anyone with information of his whereabouts should share it with the incident room on 0208 345 3715 quoting Operation Brooktunnel.
Alternatively contact police on 101 or by messaging @MetCC on X, quoting CAD 8517/30Jul – or share information anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
