A Mexican restaurant in Hackney has bid to extend its opening hours on Friday and Saturday nights.

Caldera London, a Mexican restaurant on 143 Mare Street in Hackney, applied to Hackney Council for a premises license which would allow the business to sell late night food and drink beyond its existing operating hours.

If granted, Caldera will be able to do so until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The application, which was made last Thursday (March 28) will be considered by Hackney Council's licensing service and is open to feedback until April 18 this year.

According to its TripAdvisor profile, Caldera is a neighbourhood kitchen which serves Mexican food, including fish tacos, burritos and blackened octopus.

The TripAdvisor listing shows that the business is currently open from 5pm until 11pm on Fridays, and 12pm until 11pm on Saturdays.

Under the new plans, Caldera could remain open for an extra two hours on those nights.

From Sunday to Thursday, the establishment is open until 10pm, the listing shows.
