Police investigating a suspected murder in Hackney have appealed for help in tracing the victim’s movements in the weeks leading up to his death.
Dimitrios Tsavdaris, known as Jimmy, was found dead at a flat in Lansdowne Drive on January 29.
A post-mortem examination found that he died as a result of injuries consistent with assault.
Bamidele Fawehinmi, 31, of Clissold Close, Muswell Hill, has been charged with his murder.
Officers are now keen to speak to anyone who knew the 45-year-old, or saw him in the weeks leading up to his death.
Although he had no fixed address, it is thought that Dimitrios, who was named earlier this week, stayed at two different homes – one in Orkney Gardens, Wickford, and another in Grenville Road, Islington.
Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Allen, who is leading the investigation, said: “We would ask anyone who lives or works in those areas to think about whether they may have seen him in recent weeks and months."
She added: “We are carrying out extensive enquiries into Dimitrios’ death and as part of this we need to know more details about him and his background.”
The 45-year-old is not believed to have any family in the UK, but his next of kin have been informed of his death.
