Police have released more information about two men arrested after a man was found dead in a flat.
The Metropolitan Police were called to an address in Lansdowne Drive, in London Fields, Hackney, at about 12.30am on Monday (January 29) about concerns for the welfare of a man there.
On arrival, officers found a man dead inside the flat.
A post-mortem examination held on Wednesday (January 31) found that the man died as a result of injuries caused by an assault, Scotland Yard said.
The Met launched a murder investigation. Enquiries continue.
A spokesperson said the victim was of no fixed address and that police are seeking to identify and notify the dead man's next of kin.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on January 30 and remains in custody.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on January 31 and released with no further action.
No charges have been made.
