A four-year-old boy who was stabbed to death has been named.
Kobi Macharia Dooly, 4, was found with knife injuries after police were called to Montague Road, Hackney, following concerns for the welfare of a child on Wednesday (December 20) at 10.50pm.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.
A special postmortem is scheduled to take place on Thursday (December 28).
His mother Keziah Macharia, 41, has been charged with the murder of her son.
She will appear in custody at Thames Magistrates’ Court today (December 22).
A video sent to the Gazette showed officers running up and down the road, while one neighbour said two police officers were seen "crying and shaking”.
One woman, 36, said: “The child was energetic and often seen out with his scooter”.
Police tape was stretched across part of the street yesterday, blocking access to the house as forensic investigators collected evidence.
