Three loud bangs were recorded on video as a man was shot in a busy high street.

Stoke Newington High Street is currently closed today (August 11), following a shooting in the area shortly after 3pm.

Chilling footage shows the moment that three loud bangs rang out at the time of the shooting.

In the video, which was embedded in this article before the user later deleted it online, a group of people were seen screaming and running after the gunshots were heard.

The incident took place near Stoke Newington Police Station.

MPS Hackney have said: "No arrests have been made at this stage, and a scene is in place which will be affecting people's travel through the area.

"We are working hard to establish who is responsible and will keep everyone updated as soon as possible - we know this is a hugely concerning incident.”

The road is closed with queueing traffic due to the police incident on A10 Stoke Newington High Street, from Victorian Road to Kynaston Avenue.
