A police vehicle rushing to attend an emergency call collided with a pedestrian in the early hours of the morning.
A man was taken to hospital after the collision in Stoke Newington High Street near the police station this morning. He has since been discharged.
The Metropolitan Police said that the incident took place at 1.41am and that the Directorate of Professional Standards had been informed.
The road near Amhurst Road was closed for some time following the collision, reopening at around 9.15am.
A police spokesperson said: “At around 1.41am a police vehicle responding to an emergency call was involved in a collision with a pedestrian in Stoke Newington High Street N16, near the police station.
“The male was taken to hospital and later was discharged.
“As is protocol the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed.”
