A man reportedly suffering from a mental health crisis attacked two officers on a Hackney estate this morning, before fleeing the scene.
Police were called to the De Beauvoir Estate at around 2am earlier today (March 10) to reports of a male allegedly attempting to force his way into a property.
A police spokesperson said the caller had told the force that he may have been suffering from a mental health crisis.
Two officers attended the scene, before being confronted by the male on the property’s balcony.
The spokesperson said both officers were attacked, one of whom received “serious injuries”, and that the two were taken to hospital for treatment.
A knife was later recovered from the scene.

The male fled the property, with enquiries ongoing to locate him.
A London Ambulance spokesperson confirmed it sent an ambulance crew and incident response officer to the estate, before taking two people to hospital.
