Essex Senior League: Sporting Bengal United 3 Hackney Wick 1
Sporting Bengal United’s recent good form continued after they came from behind to record a 3-1 victory against Hackney Wick at Mile End Stadium.
The visitors, who saw new boss Tony Ievoli taking charge of his first game, saw Casey put them in front just before the hour mark.
Bengal fought back and levelled through Steven Carvell just six minutes later before a brace from Oscal Mendes in the 81st and 83rd minute saw Imrul Gazi’s side make it eight points in their last four games.
Imrul Gazi’s men moved into eleventh in the Essex Senior League, whilst Wick drop to second bottom.
Sporting Bengal United manager Imrul Gazi tweeted after the game: “A brilliant seven days for my Sporting Bengal lads (7/9 points) So proud of them. All those that have come in have give a real good account of themselves and that’s all I can ask! Good 3-1 win today against a pacey Hackney Wick - All the best for the season guys.”
